The
Mangledwurzels played on the second day of the two-day
Waterfront Bar Beer Festival at Pewsey Wharf on the
rain-swept banks of the Kennet & Avon Canal. The
previous night had been packed, with Bedwyn Busker
and Humdinger providing the entertainment - and indifferent
weather with occassional downpours didn't stop a decent
crowd gathering for The Mangledwurzels' show on the
Sunday afternoon.
The
Box
Steam Brewery bar had a big range of their real
ales (all nice stuff!) and a few real ciders from
Broadoak
Cider. In addition there was a rather splendid
barbecue, which the band enjoyed! 'Shag'
the landlord also had arranged for volunteers from
the Help
For Heroes charity to come along for a little
fundraising. Their raffle raised £250 for the
charity on the day.
Negotiations
are already underway for a return to the venue in
November for their Bah Humbug! anti-Christmas party
- and with any luck we'll be back at next year's beer
festival too! |
